Lagos, Nigeria – Yingqi Auto Machinery Co. Ltd., a leading auto company specializing in car engine refurbishment, has opened its doors in Lagos, urging Nigerians to abandon the practice of discarding old vehicle engines.
The company aims to extend the service life of vehicles through engine refurbishment and advanced automotive technologies.
Located in the Ojodu Berger area of Lagos State, Yingqi Auto officially launched at a well-attended event that included key stakeholders from Nigeria’s automotive and academic sectors. Among the dignitaries present was Dr. Ibraheem Abdul, Rector of Yaba College of Technology, who commended the company’s efforts in fostering industry-academic collaboration.
In his welcome address, Yingqi Auto Machinery’s Managing Director, Mr. Vincent Ke, highlighted the company’s commitment to advancing automotive technology. “The birth of Yingqi Auto Machinery stems from a group of entrepreneurs with an unending passion for automotive technology. Our team brings together elite talents with rich industry experience, deep professional knowledge, and keen insights,” Ke said.
He emphasized the importance of cross-border collaboration, stating, “In today’s globalized world, no country or enterprise can exist and develop in isolation.” Ke, a Chinese national, pledged that the company would comply with Nigerian regulations and support developmental projects in the country. “We will actively respond to Nigeria’s national policies, promote green and low-carbon development, and contribute to Nigeria’s progress,” he added.
Yingqi Auto’s factory is equipped with modern machinery, including surface grinders, boring machines, benchtop grinders, and crankshaft grinders. These tools enable the company to refurbish engine blocks, preventing issues such as overheating, and restoring engines to standard performance.
Dr. Ibraheem Abdul of Yaba College of Technology expressed optimism about future collaborations between the college and Yingqi Auto, particularly in areas of talent development and technological innovation. “We firmly believe that through joint efforts, we will achieve even more fruitful results in talent cultivation, scientific research innovation, and social services,” he said.
Nike Davies-Okundaye, owner of Nike Art Gallery, also lauded the initiative, stating that it would foster job creation and technological transfer in Nigeria. She praised the long-standing developmental cooperation between Nigeria and China and encouraged Yingqi Auto to continue its contributions to the country’s growth.
