Ruben Amorim Set to Lead Manchester United After Ten Hag Sacking

Manchester, England – Ruben Amorim has been appointed as the new head coach of Manchester United, taking over from the recently dismissed Erik ten Hag. The announcement was made on Friday, revealing that the Portuguese manager, who previously led Sporting Lisbon to two Primeira Liga titles, has signed a contract that runs until 2027 and will officially join the club on November 11.

In a statement on the club’s website, Manchester United expressed their enthusiasm, stating, “We are pleased to confirm the appointment of Ruben Amorim as head coach of the men’s first team, pending work visa approval.” The contract includes an option for an additional year, subject to Amorim fulfilling his commitments to his current team.

United has hailed Amorim as “one of the most promising and highly regarded young coaches in European football.” Until Amorim’s arrival, Ruud van Nistelrooy will continue to lead the team.

Ten Hag was relieved of his duties following a disappointing 2-1 loss to West Ham on Monday, which left Manchester United struggling in 14th place in the Premier League, having secured only three victories in nine matches.
