Benin City— Monday Okpebholo has officially taken office as the new governor of Edo State, succeeding Godwin Obaseki, whose six-year tenure has come to an end.

Okpebholo was inaugurated on Tuesday in a ceremony held at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, the state capital.

The event marked a significant political shift for the state, coming two months after the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured the governorship position in a decisive electoral victory. Okpebholo was sworn in alongside his deputy governor, Dennis Idahosa.

Their oath of office signals a new chapter for Edo State under the leadership of the APC administration.
