How to Apply: Nigerian Defence Academy Opens Applications for 77th Regular Course
The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has officially commenced its online application process for the 77th Regular Course, welcoming eligible male and female candidates across Nigeria to apply for both military and academic training.

This application window, which began on November 6, 2024, will remain open until April 30, 2025, offering successful applicants the opportunity to pursue a five-year program as Officer Cadets, combining academic studies with military training.

Graduates of the NDA’s 77th Regular Course will not only receive a Bachelor’s degree in their field of study but will also be commissioned by the President into the Nigerian Armed Forces upon successful completion of their training.

For this admissions cycle, the NDA has partnered with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Prospective candidates must also register for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) through JAMB and select NDA as their first-choice institution. Only candidates who meet the required UTME score will proceed to the next stage: 180 for Arts, Social Sciences, and Science programs, and 210 for Engineering courses.

The NDA screening test, which serves as the first phase of the post-UTME assessment, is scheduled for Saturday, May 24, 2025. Candidates are required to bring these essential documents to the test center:

  • An Acknowledgement Form
  • The Screening Test Admission Card
  • JAMB result slip
  • Two passport-sized photographs (3.5 x 5 inches) with personal information on the back

To apply, candidates should visit the NDA application portal, select the “Purchase Access Code” option, and complete the application steps. The application fee is set at N7,000, payable via REMITA, by generating an Order ID and a Remita Retrieval Reference Code on the portal. Payments made without this specific retrieval code will not be accepted, and applications lacking it will not be processed by the NDA.

The NDA offers a variety of undergraduate programs across several faculties, including Science, Military Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies, Engineering and Technology, Arts and Social Sciences, and Management Sciences. General academic requirements include five credits in subjects including English and Mathematics, obtained in no more than two sittings. Candidates with proficiency in either French or Arabic will have an added advantage.

To assist candidates in their preparation, the NDA registry offers past questions and answers for a fee.
