Benue Police Investigate Shocking Case as University Lecturer is Accused of Orchestrating Colleague’s Wife’s Kidnapping and Allegedly Ordering Her Execution During the Ordeal.

The Benue State Police Command has arrested Dr. Ichor Tersagh, a lecturer at the Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University of Agriculture, Makurdi (JOSTUM), for allegedly orchestrating the abduction of Mrs. Susan Anyagh, the wife of his colleague and chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), JOSTUM chapter.

Reports indicate that Mrs. Anyagh was ambushed and kidnapped along Otukpo Road, Makurdi, last Saturday. Her abductors reportedly looted ₦1.3 million from her vehicle, assaulted her, and left her unconscious on a bush path.

Shocking Twist: Victim Identifies Colleague at Crime Scene

According to Catherine Anene, the spokesperson for the state police command, the victim narrated a harrowing experience upon regaining consciousness. She claimed to have seen Dr. Tersagh near the abduction site and begged for help, but he allegedly ignored her plea and walked away.

Anene disclosed that the victim had been on her way from an NNPC mega fuel station in Kanshio, where she had collected money from a customer, when she stopped to assist people who flagged her down. The individuals turned out to be armed kidnappers who forced her to drive towards the Wurukum area.

The abductors allegedly received a phone call from Dr. Tersagh during the ordeal, instructing them to kill the victim. When the kidnappers noticed a police checkpoint ahead, they abandoned the car in a concealed location, took the cash, and brutally attacked Mrs. Anyagh with a car jack, leaving her for dead.

Passersby later found her along Yandev-Ugbema Road and rushed her to the Primary Healthcare Clinic in Ameladu for urgent treatment.

Police Investigation Underway

Dr. Tersagh was arrested following the victim’s statement. The police have launched a comprehensive investigation into the case.

Mr. Paul Anyagh, the victim’s husband, confirmed the incident and stated he was cooperating with the authorities. He promised to share additional details as the investigation unfolds.
