Vice President Kashim Shettima Travels to Dubai for Oil Facility Inauguration
Abuja, Nigeria – Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed for Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to represent President Bola Tinubu at the inauguration and naming ceremony of a $315 million oil production and storage facility. This information was shared by Stanley Nkwocha, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications in the Office of the Vice President, in a statement released on Friday.
The facility, owned entirely by a Nigerian company, Oriental Energy Ltd., is set to be inaugurated on December 14. Following this event in Dubai, Vice President Shettima will travel to Saudi Arabia to undertake Umrah, the lesser pilgrimage, visiting the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah from December 16 to December 19.
Additionally, while in Saudi Arabia, the Vice President plans to engage in a bilateral meeting with the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) in Jeddah on December 20. The discussions will revolve around co-financing plans for the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ Phase II) and improving the coordination of IsDB projects within Nigeria. These efforts are aimed at enhancing agricultural development and bolstering the nation’s economic growth.
Shettima is expected to return to Nigeria on or before December 21.
