Kano, Nigeria – Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, the former Secretary to the Government of Kano State, has vowed to release incriminating evidence against Governor Abba Yusuf and his political mentor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, accusing them of betrayal and treachery.

This marks the first time the sacked SSG has spoken publicly since his removal from office in December 2024, alongside five commissioners.

Addressing his supporters on Thursday following his return from Saudi Arabia, Mr. Bichi claimed to possess damning evidence, including documents, videos, and audio recordings, which he promised to release at the “appropriate time.”

“I’m happy that I have finished my tenure in peace,” Mr. Bichi stated. “As you know, this is not the best time to talk, but at the appropriate time, we will expose them so that people will understand the kind of people they are.”

He further described Governor Yusuf and Mr. Kwankwaso as untrustworthy, accusing them of deception and betrayal. “They don’t know anything except treachery and betrayal. They are not people to be trusted,” he added.

His removal followed his suspension by the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) over alleged disloyalty. Reports suggest his troubles began after he led a faction within the party, known as Abba Tsaya da Karka, which called for Governor Yusuf to break away from Mr. Kwankwaso and the Kwankwasiyya movement.

While refraining from releasing specifics, Mr. Bichi maintained that he has “documented everything from written to audio and video evidence.”
