Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Inaugurates New Officials in Yobe State
The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Yobe State Branch, held an inauguration ceremony for its newly elected officials on Saturday, marking the commencement of their two-year term. The nine-member executive committee will focus on the welfare, development, and advancement of the association during their tenure.
In her address, outgoing Chairperson Altine Ibrahim reflected on her time in office, citing significant accomplishments, including the conceptualization of the NBA Bar Center Project, which is named in honor of Governor Mai Mala Buni. Ibrahim emphasized that this project is intended to create a conducive working environment equipped with essential facilities such as conference halls, a library, and training spaces.
Ibrahim also highlighted the challenges the branch faced, particularly condemning the unfortunate invasion of the Chief Magistrate Court in Potiskum, which drew the Bar’s robust disapproval. She expressed gratitude to the state government, senior legal professionals, and partners for their ongoing support in areas such as legal empowerment, capacity building, welfare initiatives, and public interest matters.
The newly elected chairman, Ahmad Khalifa, committed to executing his duties impartially and in accordance with the established guidelines. The ceremony concluded with Magistrate Court Judge Abdullahi Saleh Samanja administering the oath of office to the new executives.

- Provost: Baba Umar Nuhu
