Abuja, Nigeria – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the redeployment of four Federal Permanent Secretaries to new ministries. This decision aligns with his administration’s broader agenda to revamp the civil service for improved service delivery.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, described the redeployment as a standard administrative procedure designed to align the skills of senior officials with national priorities. She urged the affected officials to leverage their expertise to enhance governance and performance in their new roles.
According to a statement released on Tuesday by the Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Eno Olotu, the reassignment is part of ongoing reforms to strengthen institutional capacity and optimize operations across ministries.
The officials affected by the redeployment include Dr. Mary Ada Ogbe, who has been moved from the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development to the Ministry of Regional Development. She is expected to understudy the outgoing Permanent Secretary, who will retire on May 7, 2025.
Also affected is Engr. Faruk Yusuf Yabo, formerly of the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, who now takes over at the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development.
Dr. Emeka Vitalis Obi, previously serving in the Ministry of Budget and Economic Development, has been assigned to the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, while Mr. Ogbodo Chinasa Nnam, who served at the Special Duties Office under the OHCSF, will now oversee responsibilities at the Ministry of Information and National Orientation.
All redeployed officials have been directed to complete the handover process on or before May 2, 2025, as stipulated by the civil service leadership.
