Nigeria’s federal authorities have filed treason and terrorism charges against six individuals over an alleged plot to overthrow the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Security sources confirmed that those charged include a retired military officer and a serving police personnel, while at least one key suspect remains at large.
According to investigators, the group allegedly conspired to “levy war against the state,” raising fresh concerns about democratic stability amid a wave of coups across West Africa.
The development marks one of the most serious internal security threats in recent years.
