Armed bandits have abducted an undisclosed number of students from a secondary school in Niger state, Nigeria, reports have said.

Gunmen suspected to be bandits stormed Government Science College in Kagara, about 260km (160 miles) northwest of the Nigerian capital Abuja, at approximately 3am (02:00 GMT) on Wednesday and abducted several students, Ibrahim Matane, Niger State government secretary told the media.

No group has claimed responsibility for the abduction.
