Nigeria’s Alma Asinobi Aims To Set New Travel World Record
Nigerian Travel Content Creator Alma Asinobi Sets Sights on World Record for Fastest Journey Across All Continents

In an inspiring and audacious initiative, 26-year-old Nigerian travel influencer Alma Asinobi has declared her intention to break the Guinness World Record for the fastest journey across all seven continents. Her ambitious project, set to kick off on March 15, 2025, aims to complete the journey in under 70 hours, surpassing the current record of 73 hours established by Sujoy Kumar Mitra and Dr. Ali Irani.

Alma’s journey will commence in Antarctica and will weave through North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania. However, her undertaking signifies much more than a mere race against the clock. As the youngest and only Black individual attempting this record solo, Alma is focused on highlighting the systemic challenges faced by travelers from nations with limited mobility privileges, particularly her home country of Nigeria.

At a press briefing held on Thursday, Alma articulated her vision: “This attempt transcends merely breaking a record. It’s an opportunity to illustrate what is achievable for young African women and anyone holding a low-mobility passport. I aim to show that resolve can surmount the barriers rooted in global travel. My aspirations should not be restricted by my race or the hue of my passport.”

Timed to coincide with Women’s Month, Alma’s quest seeks to challenge stereotypes and motivate young girls from around the globe to aim high.

Alongside her seven-continent record challenge, Asinobi unveiled a second Guinness World Record project: the initiative to create the most-signed travel memorabilia ever. A Nigerian flag will be available for signatures from supporters worldwide, with the signing event scheduled for March 23, 2025. This project is designed to represent unity, resilience, and communal effort on an international scale.

Alma’s record attempts have garnered substantial backing, particularly from financial technology company Risevest. Global Marketing Officer Eneyi Obi expressed excitement about Asinobi’s mission to dismantle obstacles and broaden horizons for Africans on the global stage.
