Air Peace dismisses viral speculation of fare increase
Abuja, Nigeria – Nigeria’s leading airline, Air Peace, has denied viral speculation regarding an impending increase in its one-way ticket prices from Lagos to Abuja.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), the airline made it clear that the rumors suggesting a hike were unfounded and not issued by the company.
“We would like to categorically state that this information is false and did not originate from Air Peace. We have not released any official statement regarding a fare increase as described, and any announcements regarding our pricing would only be made through our verified channels. We encourage our valued customers and clients to rely exclusively on our above platforms for accurate updates and information on fares,” the airline stated.
The rumors, which began circulating last week, claimed that Air Peace planned to raise one-way fares between Lagos and Abuja to ₦200,000, with the new prices purportedly set to take effect on November 1, 2024. This speculation sparked significant concern among Nigerian travelers, many of whom have already begun seeking alternative means of transportation due to escalating airfares.
Air Peace has urged passengers to disregard these incorrect reports and to consult only official channels for reliable information regarding their fare structure.
