Presidential hopeful, Atiku Abubakar, has deleted a post he made on Facebook condemning the killing of Deborah Samuel, a Christian student, by a mob for allegedly insulting prophet Mohammed (SAW) in a school in Sokoto state, Nigeria.

Deborah, a Christian student at the Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, was stoned and burnt to death after she was accused of insulting the holy prophet in an audio recording she posted on her class’s Whatsapp group.

Many condemned the killing online. Atiku initially did same on his verified Facebook page but deleted it, and later disowned the post, after fanatics threatened not to vote him in the coming elections.

Atiku’s actions has attracted mixed reaction from the public with many suggesting that he may be a bias president if he eventually wins in the 2023 elections.
