According to sources who spoke to Daily Trust, the attackers struck the Hausari quarters in Geidam LGA at around 3:44 am on Friday. Taking advantage of the early morning darkness, the terrorists targeted their victims while they were asleep, leaving them defenseless.
Reports indicate that the gunmen launched their attack when the students were sound asleep, pulling them outside and executing them. This calculated and cruel assault has deeply shaken the community, resulting in the loss of several young lives.
One source described the incident: “The attack occurred around 3:44 am when the gunmen invaded Faudiya School, a well-known Shiite school in Geidam. They attacked while the students were asleep, brought them outside, and shot them dead.”
The incident has created widespread fear in the town, as people grapple with the horror of what has happened. A local vigilante confirmed that three members of the Shia sect were killed, while one person sustained injuries. “We don’t know who the gunmen are, but they killed three students. Another person who tried to escape was injured and has been hospitalized,” the vigilante reported.
The spokesperson for the Yobe State Police Command, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, confirmed the attack but did not provide further details.
