The executive chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, in Rivers state, Hon. David Rogers Irimagha is dead.
His death was confirmed by Hon. Samuel Nwanosike, the executive chairman of Ikwerre LGA in a post on his Facebook page on Saturday.
“It is with profound sadness and deep sorrow that i learned of the recent demise of Hon. David Rogers Irimagha, the Executive Chairman of Bonny Local Government area. In this hour of grief, my family and the people of Ikwerre LGA join me in extending our sincere condolence and heartfelt sympathy to his family.” Nwanosike wrote.
In May, 2020 the late Irimagha, ordered an investigation into the mysterious deaths of 9 persons in Bonny. Victims had symptoms like loss of smell, loss of taste, body weakness, stooling, coughing, headache and fever.
Bonny is a strategic Local Government Area in Nigeria as it houses the NLNG, Nigeria’s largest Liquefied Gas infrastructure.
It is not clear what led to his death as at the time of this report..
