Dangote Refinery to Commence Production of Diesel, JetA1 in January 2024 Dangote Refinery Set To Import Crude From USA

Dangote Petroleum Refinery says it will official begin production of diesel and JetA1 or aviation fuel in January 2024.

The company said it would delay petrol production commencement pending crude oil supply. The company have had several failed commencement dates in the past.

The facility would require a minimum of six million barrels of crude oil to kick-start the full production of refined petroleum products, including AGO, PMS, Jet A1, and Dual Purpose Kerosene, otherwise called kerosene, the company said in a previous press release.

Recall that REPORT AFRIQUE earlier reported that the company had received one million barrels of crude oil, while the remaining five million barrels are expected to arrive the Dangote facility in weeks.

Commissioned in early 2023 by former president Mohammadu Buhari, the facility was built with almost 20 billion US dollars and it is expected to have the capacity to process about 650,000 barrels per day of crude oil (in full operation), making it the largest single-train refinery in the world.
