Gunmen Trail Former Immigration Chief David Parradang, from Bank, Rob Him, and Kill Him in Abuja
Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have killed former Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), David Shikfu Parradang, in Abuja.
According to counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the tragic incident occurred in the Area 1 axis of the Federal Capital Territory in the early hours of Tuesday.
Sources say Parradang was trailed from a bank where he had withdrawn money. The assailants reportedly stole the cash before killing him, raising fresh concerns over security in Abuja amid rising cases of kidnappings and targeted attacks.
Parradang, who served in the NIS for over 30 years, held key positions across various states, including Kano, Lagos, Kwara, and Enugu. A distinguished graduate of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), he was also honored with the national award of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR).
Security agencies have launched an investigation into the killing, with efforts underway to track down the perpetrators.
While the Nigerian Immigration Service has yet to issue an official statement, an official at the headquarters in Abuja confirmed the incident, stating,
“The report is true, but we await an official announcement.”
