In a significant political development, Ahmed Ibrahim, a former Legal Director of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ibrahim, who recently retired from public office, was warmly received by the APC leadership in Abuja on Thursday.

Speaking to newsmen, Ibrahim explained that his decision to join the APC was driven by his conviction that the party means well for Nigerians. He expressed his support for President Bola Tinubu’s vision and policies, citing progress in security, agriculture, human capital development, and social investment.

Ibrahim emphasized the need for collective support to achieve the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, stating, “All hands must be on deck to move the country forward and to a greater height.” He also expressed his desire to contribute to national development through his membership in the APC.

The event was attended by APC stakeholders from the FCT’s six area councils and chieftains from Edo, Ibrahim’s home state. He was presented with the party’s flag and a broom, symbolizing his acceptance into the APC family.

Party leaders expressed optimism that Ibrahim’s joining would reposition and revive the party ahead of the 2027 general election. They emphasized the need for unity and commitment to implementing Tinubu’s agenda, urging members to remain steadfast in the face of opposition propaganda.
