President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of key personnel within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Civil Service Commission and the designation of permanent secretaries.
This decision comes following recommendations put forward by the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike.
In a letter dated March 11th, 2024, addressed to President Tinubu, Minister Wike outlined the nominees for various positions, stating, “I have the honour to respectfully submit for Your Excellency’s kind consideration and approval, the nominees listed below for appointment as Chairman and Commissioners of the Federal Capital Territory Civil Service Commission…”
The nominees for the FCT Civil Service Commission include:
Engr. Emeka Ezeh (Chairman)
Hon. Ahmed Mohammed (North West)
Chief Anthony Okeah (South-South)
Mohammed Magaji Ibrahim (North East)
Miskoom Alexander Naantuam (North Central)
Hon. Jide Jimoh (South West)
Martin Azubike (South East)
Additionally, Minister Wike proposed appointments to fill vacancies within critical agencies of the FCT Administration.
The proposed appointments include Abdulkadir Zulkarfi as Coordinator of the Satellite Towns Development Department, Chief Felix Obuah as Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council, and Oladiran Olufemi Akindele as Coordinator of the Abuja Infrastructure Investment Centre.
Furthermore, to bolster the bureaucratic structure of the FCT Administration, Minister Wike recommended the appointment of Atang Udo Samuel as Head of the Civil Service of the FCT, and the nomination of several serving directors for appointment as permanent secretaries based on competence and geographical spread.
These appointments signify a strategic move towards enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the FCT Civil Service Commission and the overall administration of the Federal Capital Territory.
