Ministry of Foreign Affairs Alerts Public About Fake Ambassadorial Nominee List

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a public advisory, urging citizens to ignore a fraudulent list of ambassadorial nominees that has been circulating on social media. In a statement released on Sunday by spokesperson Kimiebi Ebienfa, the ministry confirmed that no new ambassadorial appointments have been made.

The announcement stressed that the authority to appoint ambassadors lies exclusively with the President of Nigeria.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to inform the general public to kindly disregard the fake list of ambassadorial nominees which is currently in circulation on some social media platforms. The ministry wishes to state unequivocally that the appointment of ambassadors is the prerogative of Mr. President, and no such appointments have been made in that regard,” the statement indicated.

Consequently, the Ministry has advised the public to treat the circulated list as unfounded and without merit.
