The Defence Headquarters has announced the pursuit of 97 individuals, including terrorists, insurgents, and other criminals, responsible for violent activities across the nation.
Among those sought is Simon Ekpa, a factional leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
According to Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, the decision to declare these individuals wanted follows recent exclusive reporting indicating the military’s intention to take action against terrorists.
Unlike previous instances where bounties were offered, this declaration does not include monetary rewards for information leading to arrests.
The list encompasses individuals from various regions affected by insecurity:
North West Zone: 43 individuals wanted for banditry-related offenses, including Alhaji Shingi, Malindi Yakubu, and Dogo Gide.
North East: 33 individuals sought for involvement with Boko Haram and Islamic State for West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists, such as Abu Zaida and Modu Sulum.
South East and North Central: 21 insurgents and violent criminals, including Simon Ekpa and Chika Edoziem.
The Defence Headquarters urges the public to provide any relevant information that could aid in the arrest of these individuals, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in combating insecurity nationwide.
