Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), has submitted his resignation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Abubakar, who was initially appointed to the position in 2018 by former President Muhammadu Buhari, had his tenure extended in December 2021.

According to The Nation Newspaper, a credible source within the State House confirmed the development, stating, “The Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, has tendered his resignation to President Tinubu.”
