In a press briefing held in Abuja, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) raised concerns over the popularized slogan ‘No gree for anybody’ cautioning that it has the potential to incite crises in the country.
The Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, revealed that intelligence reports indicate the catchphrase, which urges individuals not to tolerate any form of nonsense or bullying, could lead to significant unrest.
Adejobi emphasized that while the slogan might be perceived as ordinary talk, the security community views it as perilous. He stated, “The new slogan for 2024 for young people is ‘no dey gree for anybody.’ We have been informed from our intelligence that this is coming from the retribution sector that might likely cause problems across the country.”
The Force Public Relations Officer (PRO) added that ‘No dey gree for anybody’ is considered by the security community as a dangerous slogan that has the potential to trigger crises. The police are urging caution and awareness regarding the use of this catchphrase to prevent any escalation of tensions.
Nigerians on social media had at the beginning of 2024 posted ‘No gree for anybody’ across their social media platforms. How the decision was reached by all Nigerian Netizens is still a misery to many.
