Obadiah Mailafia, former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and 2019 Nigeria Presidential election Candidate of African Democratic Congress is dead.

Mailafia, 64, worked at the African Development Bank (AFDB) and served as CBN deputy governor between 2005 and 2007.

Mailafia was also an activist who criticized the Buhari led administration and decried the incessant killing of innocent citizens by the Fulani herdsmen.

Details of his death were still sketchy as at the time of this report.
