Oyo State opens portal To recruit 7,000 Teachers, 100 Caregivers

The Oyo State government has announced that the portal for the recruitment of public primary school teachers and caregivers will be open from June 25, 2024, at 6 pm. This is part of the state government’s efforts to reduce unemployment among its citizens.

According to the Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Nureni Adeniran, the portal will require applicants to provide their email address, phone number, National Identification Number, and other relevant details. The application process will be online and will be open for three weeks, closing on July 9, 2024.

Dr. Adeniran explained that the recruitment exercise aims to provide suitable jobs for both teachers and caregivers. The state government wants to expand the job space in the basic education sector and provide opportunities for those who are interested in working as caregivers.

To ensure transparency and fairness, the recruitment process will involve three stages: online application, computer-based test examination, and oral interview. Dr. Adeniran assured applicants that all processes will be merit-based and free of charge.

The board chairman warned applicants to be cautious of scammers and to only use the official portal provided by the government to apply. He also advised applicants to upload all necessary documents and contact the support service for any challenges they may encounter during the application process.

Dr. Adeniran thanked Governor Seyi Makinde for his support and magnanimity in providing employment opportunities for the citizens of Oyo State. He expressed confidence that the board would not disappoint the governor’s expectations.

The recruitment exercise is expected to benefit over 7,000 teachers and 100 caregivers who will be employed in various primary schools across the state.
