Plateau State Government Approves New Minimum Wage of N70,000 for Workers
The Plateau State government has announced a new minimum wage of N70,000 for its employees, encouraging them to respond positively by enhancing their work ethic and productivity.
A statement issued from Jos on Thursday and signed by Stephen Gadong, the State Head of Civil Service, confirmed that this decision was reached on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
The statement read, “In accordance with the recommendations from the Committee on Consequential Adjustment on Salaries as of November 13, 2024, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has authorized the immediate implementation of the N70,000 minimum wage for all state workers.”
Gadong highlighted that this approval reflects Governor Mutfwang’s dedication to prioritizing the welfare of the state’s workforce, acknowledging their essential contribution to advancing the development objectives of Plateau.
He remarked, “With the initiation of this new wage policy, we urge civil servants to honor this initiative by recommitting to their responsibilities with heightened enthusiasm and diligence, fostering a culture of excellence and productivity in service throughout the state.”
