In a bizarre arrest, the Ondo State Police Command has apprehended a 31-year-old man, Yusuf Adenoyin, who was found to be in possession of eight dry human skulls. The suspect was caught during a routine stop and search exercise at Isua-Akoko in Akoko South West Local Government Area of the state.
According to police sources, the suspect was traveling in a Nissan Salon car when he was stopped by officers attached to the Police Safer Highway Patrol. During the search, one of the passengers attempted to flee, but was chased and arrested by the police. A thorough search of his belongings revealed the eight dry human skulls, fresh human flesh, and charms wrapped in a polythene bag concealed in a garri sack.
The suspect, who has been identified as 31-year-old Yusuf Adenoyin, claimed that he was on his way to supply the items to herbalists. However, police investigations have revealed that he has made similar deliveries in the past, having confessed to supplying seven human skulls before his arrest.
The police have launched an investigation into the matter to apprehend Adenoyin’s accomplices and determine the source of the human skulls. The motive behind the suspect’s actions is still unclear, but it is believed that he was involved in a sinister trade involving human remains.
The police have promised to take necessary actions to bring Adenoyin to justice and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
