Protesters in Abuja have said the police shot at them while marching orderly in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, on Sunday. This is coming after the Inspector General of Police announced that the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) had been dissolved with immediate effect.
A video exclusively sent to REPORT AFRIQUE shows the police shooting at protesters while they retreat.
Speaking to REPORT AFRIQUE, one of the protesters who wishes not be named said they were shocked at the actions of the police as protesters were peaceful and orderly before the police descended on them and started firing shots at them.
Some of the protesters have taken to the social media to share their ordeals with the police in Abuja.
