Renowned Nollywood icon, Shan George, has fallen victim to a distressing financial fraud, losing a substantial sum of her life savings amounting to N3.6 million from her Zenith Bank account. The actress sounded the alarm on May 3rd, revealing that the funds had been mysteriously withdrawn by an individual named Cecilia Chisgoziem Okoro and transferred to an Opay account.
Expressing her despair, Shan George took to her Instagram page seeking assistance from her followers and prominent media figures. In her initial post, she shared screenshots as evidence, urging Zenith Bank to reverse the transaction. The actress, visibly distraught, wrote, “I need help cos I’m dy!ng. This person has just cleared my account. Pls my pple, everyone pls help. Pls Zenith Bank, Reverse it. I can’t access my app. I’m De@D Oga Jim Ovia,” alongside a screenshot displaying the transaction details.
In a subsequent video post, Shan George elaborated on the dire situation, expressing worries about her financial stability and the well-being of her children. “I’m left koboless(with nothing) right now, wetin I go eat wit my children (what will my children and I eat). @zenithbankplc @opay.ng please help me, my bank account at zenith has been wipped clean just now, paid into Opay. Pls help me reverse it. Opay customer’s name Cecilia Chisgoziem Okoro. Pls refund my money,” she captioned the emotional video.
