Governors of the 6 states in South-South region of Nigeria have agreed to establish a security outfit for the region according to a report by AIT.
The Governors who met in Asaba, the Delta State capital, also discussed the economy of the region, the state of federal infrastructure and the Coronavirus outbreak.
The meeting was They include the Governors of Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo and Rivers States.
The meeting was chaired by the Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, recently emerged as the Chairman of the Forum. Okowa took over from his successor, former gover of Bayelsa state, Seriake Dickson.
The name and details of the south south security outfit is yet to be made known to the public.
