TikToker SeaKing released From Police Custody Seaking

Olumide Ogunsanwo, widely recognized as SeaKing on TikTok, has been released from police custody following his recent arrest tied to allegations of cyberbullying against Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). The incident stems from comments made by SeaKing during a live session in December 2024, which reportedly sparked backlash.

Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore, a prominent advocate for SeaKing’s release, shared the news of his freedom on Monday via a post on X. Sowore disclosed that he acted as a signatory for SeaKing’s administrative bail after successfully contesting the initial bail conditions that required the endorsement of a civil servant of Level 10 or 12. His efforts led to a new agreement and SeaKing’s swift release, which was confirmed with a picture of the TikToker smiling from a vehicle.

During a Holy Ghost Service in February at the RCCG’s expansive auditorium in Simawa, Ogun State, Pastor Adeboye himself called for SeaKing’s release, claiming that the influencer was merely fulfilling a prophetic warning. “God revealed to us at the beginning of this year that mockers would be increasingly active,” he stated. The pastor referenced online criticism directed at him after he encouraged his congregation to undertake a 100-day fasting prayer. “I did not ask him to fast. I was only addressing my followers,” Adeboye remarked, demanding SeaKing’s release.

However, in a surprising turn of events, the RCCG later issued a statement retracting Pastor Adeboye’s earlier appeal. This announcement, made by the Public Relations Unit of the church, stressed the importance of adhering to legal protocols throughout the ongoing investigation into the matter. The statement, titled ‘Clarification on the Ongoing Investigation Regarding Seaking303’, highlighted the need to allow due process in light of potentially defamatory content from earlier videos.

The church confirmed it had received a formal complaint from the Concerned Christian Youth Forum, which represents various faith leaders, including Pastor Adeboye. RCCG underscored that the pastor’s previous comments were not intended to obstruct the investigation, while also urging authorities to conduct a fair and impartial inquiry into the allegations. The church warned against cyberbullying and disparaging remarks aimed at Pastor Adeboye, the RCCG, and the broader Christian community, asserting that the pastor is dedicated to love, reconciliation, and upholding the rule of law.
