President Bola Tinubu has given the nod for the appointment of key board members to steer the Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund (MDGIF).
The announcement was made by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement released on Friday in Abuja.
The MDGIF is set to find its home within the Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA). Tinubu has charged the appointed individuals with the responsibility of maintaining the highest standards of transparency, discipline, and patriotism in executing their duties. These principles align with the administration’s commitment to bolster the gas sector’s role in fostering robust and inclusive economic growth for Nigeria.
The appointed members include Ekperikpe Ekpo as the MDGIF Governing Council Chairman, Oluwole Adama as the MDGIF Executive Director, and Joseph Tolorunshe as the MDGIF Governing Council Secretary. Heading the NMDPRA as Chief Executive is Farouk Ahmed, supported by representatives from the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Federal Ministry of Finance on the board.
Adding diversity and expertise to the board are the three MDGIF Independent Members: Amina Maina (North-East), Edet David Ubong (South-South), and Tajudeen Bolaji Musa (South-West).
This strategic composition aims to propel the MDGIF towards its objectives in the dynamic landscape of gas infrastructure development.
