Surrender or be killed, Tinubu warns bandits And terrorists
Tinubu Issues Ultimatum to Terrorists and Bandits: Surrender or Face Consequences

President Bola Tinubu has delivered a strong message to terrorists and bandits causing havoc in Nigeria, urging them to either surrender to government forces or prepare for severe repercussions. Speaking at the inaugural international lecture organized by the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja, Tinubu emphasized that his administration can no longer tolerate the ongoing threats, stating that both kinetic and non-kinetic strategies have been implemented to root out these criminal elements.

Represented by National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Tinubu declared, “The days of these criminal elements are numbered.” He decried the prolonged suffering that has plagued the nation for the last 15 years, stating, “These bad people have been allowed to operate unchecked, interfering with our daily lives, commerce, education, healthcare, and transportation. Enough is enough. This must end, and it will.”

The president’s stark warning was directed at those involved in banditry and kidnapping, labeling them as “cowards” and “idiots.” He asserted, “If you want to live, stop this. If you want to continue your existence, put an end to your criminal activities. Time is running out for you.”

He reinforced the message that there is still an opportunity for those willing to abandon this life of crime. “Windows are open, doors are open. If you’re ready to surrender and cease your actions, do so. Otherwise, you know what’s coming for you,” he warned.

Tinubu also addressed the alarming rise in kidnappings for ransom, which he described as an economic crime overtaking traditional robbery methods. He remarked that these criminals, “stupid and cowardly,” will be hunted down, ensuring that their days are numbered, much like those involved in past forms of robbery that his administration previously vanquished. “We will defeat kidnappers; it is only a matter of time,” he assured, asking for patience as his administration continues its efforts.

In addition to the fight against terrorism and banditry, the president warned corrupt officials to be vigilant, stating that measures are in place to address corruption. “We are strengthening institutions, promoting accountability, and fostering inclusive decision-making. Those who engage in corruption should be cautious because action will be taken against you,” he declared.

Highlighting his administration’s dedication to improving the lives of the marginalized, Tinubu reiterated his commitment to job creation, infrastructure development, and enhancing social services as part of his broader agenda to alleviate poverty in Nigeria.
