The UK Visa Application Centres (VAC) in Nigeria are undergoing a significant transformation as the UK government transitions to a new service provider in 2025.

This move, announced by the UK Embassy in Nigeria, aims to enhance the efficiency and accessibility of visa application services for Nigerian applicants. The change involves the replacement of the current supplier, TLScontact, with VFS Global, a globally recognized leader in visa service operations.

Transition to VFS Global

Effective 2025, VFS Global will take over the management of UK Visa Application Centres in Nigeria as part of the UK government’s global initiative to improve visa services. The centres in Abuja and Lagos will continue operations, but some applicants may be required to visit new locations during the transition. The UK Embassy has assured applicants that they will receive direct notifications via email regarding any changes to their application processes.

New Visa Application Centre Locations

As part of the transition, the UK government has announced updated locations for visa services in Abuja and Lagos. The designated centres are as follows:

  • Abuja: Mezzanine Floor, Tower C, Churchgate Plaza, Plot 473, Cadastral Zone AO, Constitution Avenue, Central Business District.
  • Lagos (Ikeja): 2nd Floor, Ile Oja Opebi Mall, Opebi Link Road.
  • Lagos (Victoria Island): 2nd Floor, Churchgate Plaza Tower 2, PC 31 Churchgate Street.

These centres will serve as the new hubs for submitting and collecting UK visa applications, with operations set to align with VFS Global’s high standards of service delivery.

Appointment Booking Requirements

To ensure a seamless application experience, applicants must book appointments online through the official UK visa website before visiting any of the new centres. Walk-ins will not be accommodated, emphasizing the importance of prior appointment scheduling.

While the transition to a new supplier may cause temporary disruptions, the UK Embassy has reassured applicants that service quality will remain a priority. Individuals affected by the change will receive clear communication regarding adjustments to their application process or location.

Applicants are encouraged to stay updated by checking their emails regularly and verifying the authenticity of any communications received.

For applicants who have already booked appointments with TLScontact, the UK Embassy has advised them to attend their scheduled appointments unless instructed otherwise. Any required changes or rescheduling due to the transition may incur additional fees.
