Minister Wike Approves New N70,000 Minimum Wage for FCTA Personnel
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike Approves N70,000 Minimum Wage for Administration Staff

ABUJA – In a significant development for employees of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Administration, Minister Nyesom Wike has approved the implementation of a New National Minimum Wage of N70,000. This announcement was made by Mrs. Grace Adayilo, the Acting Head of the Civil Service of FCT, during a press briefing in Abuja on Tuesday. The details were conveyed through her Press Secretary, Ewhenji Anthony Odey.

Along with the new wage, Mrs. Adayilo revealed that the Minister also approved payment of three months’ arrears for all staff, starting in November 2024. This decision reflects the Minister’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of FCT Administration employees.

Mrs. Adayilo noted that this initiative is expected to motivate the entire workforce to actively support the Minister in delivering on the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

She also took the opportunity to express her appreciation to the Minister for his consistent and prompt approval of staff allowances and claims, highlighting the Administration’s focus on its employees’ needs.
