In a harrowing attack on Sunday night, bandits descended upon the Ambe community in Sanga Local Government Area, Kaduna State, resulting in the tragic loss of six lives.
Confirming the incident, spokesperson Mansir Hassan of the Kaduna State Police Command disclosed that authorities had swiftly responded to a distress call.
Police operatives from Sanga Divisional Police Station, alongside troops from Operation Safe Haven, engaged the assailants in a gun battle. One suspect was apprehended during the confrontation, while the remaining attackers fled into the nearby forest, sustaining gunshot wounds.
Member of the House of Representatives representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, Daniel Amos, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and injuries inflicted.
He condemned the attack as a blatant attempt to disrupt the peace and security of the constituency. Amos urged residents to remain calm and united in the face of adversity, emphasizing the importance of fostering peaceful coexistence despite differences.
In his statement, Amos called upon security agencies to swiftly bring the perpetrators to justice, stressing the paramountcy of safeguarding the populace against such criminal elements.
Assuring continued efforts to drive development in the constituency, he vowed to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to bolster security measures.
The federal lawmaker extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, the Arak chiefdom, Sanga Local Government Area, and the government of Kaduna State.
