FG Approves Upgrade Of Ibadan Airport To International Status

President Bola Tinubu has approved the upgrade of the Ibadan Domestic Airport to an international airport, as announced by Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Wednesday.

This development is expected to enhance regional integration and drive economic growth in the state.

The upgrade project will involve the expansion of the runway, construction of a new terminal, and other structural features.

A team has been established to oversee the project’s implementation, which is expected to commence within three weeks.

Governor Makinde has solicited the input of Air Force personnel to ensure the project meets the required operating standards.

This upgrade is expected to boost the economy of Oyo State and provide an alternative to the congested Muritala Muhammad Airport.
