The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola, who inaugurated the committee at the ministry’s conference room, emphasized the urgent need to address recurring boat accidents that have led to significant loss of lives and property. He highlighted the importance of Nigeria’s waterways for commerce, transportation, and livelihoods, stressing that ensuring their safety is crucial for the development of the nation’s blue economy.
