In response to the alarming trend of individuals leaking classified information to bandits in Kebbi State, Governor Nasir Idris has issued a stern warning, declaring his readiness to sign the death warrant of anyone convicted of such treacherous acts.
Governor Idris conveyed this message during a visit to the residents of Tudun Bichi in Wasagu Chiefdom, Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area, where he expressed his deep concern over the recurring attacks by bandits in the region.
Expressing his indignation towards the informants aiding bandits, Governor Idris emphasized his firm stance against such nefarious activities, stating, “The activities of informants defy all norms and religious doctrines. Just for a pittance, some miscreants will provide valuable information to bandits to perpetrate mayhem against their people.”
He further warned, “Let it be known to the informants that whoever is convicted for volunteering information to bandits leading to the killing of innocent souls, I will sign his death warrant instantly.”
Governor Idris assured the residents of his administration’s unwavering support for security agencies, emphasizing the provision of logistics, troop welfare, and other necessary resources to enhance combat readiness and operational effectiveness.
Additionally, in response to a request for infrastructure improvement, Governor Idris pledged immediate rehabilitation of a three-kilometer road connecting the village with Wasagu, which had become impassable due to a bridge collapse.
The governor’s decisive stance underscores the state government’s commitment to combatting insecurity and ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens in Kebbi State.
