In a dramatic demonstration of dissent, the National Union of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institutions Employees led a picket outside Heritage Bank’s headquarters in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The focal point of their ire: the termination of 1,000 support staff members.

Comrade Anthony Abakpa, the National President of the union, asserted during the protest that the bank’s leadership failed to adhere to proper procedure prior to the mass dismissal.

He emphasized the union’s determination to pursue justice and urged the bank’s management to rectify the situation.

Video footage shared by Channels TV depicted the aggrieved union members rallying outside the bank’s premises, signaling a concerted effort to amplify their grievances.
