Jigawa Resident Accuses Sharia Court of Overlooking 854 Photos, 100 Videos, and 500 Hours of Call Records in Case Against Commissioner
A storm of controversy has erupted in Jigawa State after Nasiru Buba, a local resident, accused Auwal Danladi Sankara, the Commissioner for Special Duties, of engaging in an illicit affair with his wife, Tasleem.
Buba, speaking to journalists in Kano, revealed that he had submitted a trove of evidence to a Sharia Court to back his claims, including 854 photos, 100 video clips, 200 WhatsApp voice notes, and over 500 hours of call recordings.
Despite the damning nature of the evidence, the court acquitted Sankara of any wrongdoing, a verdict that has sparked outrage from Buba and his legal team.
“Justice Denied?”
Reacting to the judgment, Buba expressed disappointment with the judicial process.
“With all the evidence I provided to the police and the court, they still cleared him. If the court has cleared them, they are not cleared in the eyes of God. I leave everything to Allah, the ultimate judge,”
he said.
Legal Team Alleges Bias
Buba’s lawyer, Rabi’u Sidi, criticized the court’s handling of the case, alleging procedural irregularities.
“We were not informed about the court sitting or the judgment. We only heard about the ruling through the media,” Sidi stated.
The verdict has fueled debates over judicial transparency and accountability, with many observers questioning how such extensive evidence was disregarded.
As the dust settles, Buba has vowed to seek divine justice, leaving the public to ponder whether the case reflects broader issues within the judicial system.
