In a recent development, Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State has announced a significant reshuffling of the Governing Council for Rivers State University and Ignatius Ajuru University of Education.

The announcement, conveyed by Tammy Danagogo, the Secretary to the State Government, highlighted notable appointments and changes within the councils.
A prominent figure among the appointees is former governor Peter Odili’s wife, Rtd Justice Mary Odili, who assumes the role of Pro-Chancellor/Chairman of the Rivers State University Governing Council.
The newly constituted council also comprises individuals such as Barr. Mela Oforibika, Chukwuma A.J. Chinwo, Esq, Adata Bio-Briggs, Esq, Dr. Jonathan Nimi Hart, Ngo Martins-Yellowe, Dr. Robinson N. Ewoh, Dr.Nancy Nwankwo, Dr. Igoni William-Park, and Mr. Ogbugbu Samuel Barisua.
Additionally, Chief Adokiye Amiesemaka has been appointed as the Pro-Chancellor/Chairman of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education.
Accompanying Chief Amiesemaka are members including Dr. Iboh Okidim, Prof. Jason Osai, Prof. Ijeoma F.V. Akpu, Mrs. Mmeme Gogo-Adiari, Hon. Dominic Sata, and Dr. Akabue Godson Ugochukwu.
The appointments, according to Tammy Danagogo, take immediate effect, signifying a pivotal transition in the governance structures of these esteemed institutions.
