Angola Embassy to Open Visa and Investment Center in Port Harcourt

Angola Embassy to Open Visa and Investment Center in Port Harcourt

In a bid to enhance bilateral relations and ease travel procedures, the Angola Embassy announced the inauguration of a Visa Application Centre in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

Scheduled for Tuesday, April 2, the center’s opening coincides with Angola’s Day of Peace and National Reconciliation on April 4.

Facilitated through a partnership between the Embassy of Angola and Akwa Helmes International Limited (AHIL), the center aims to streamline visa applications, boost investment opportunities, and promote tourism, particularly in the oil and gas sector.

Services will include visa processing, assistance with investment inquiries, and support for travel arrangements, including flights operated by Angola’s national airline, TAAG.

Governor of Rivers State, Siminalaye Fubara will grace the event as a special guest of honour signifying the support of Rivers State government on the initiative.

The inauguration underscores efforts to strengthen economic, cultural, and tourist ties between Angola and Nigeria.

Port Harcourt, situated in the heart of the Niger Delta, serves as a strategic location for the centre, given its prominence in Nigeria’s petroleum and petrochemical industries.

Port Harcourt regarded as the oil hub of Nigeria has notable oil companies and key refineries necessitating the decision of Angola to set up the initiative in the Garden City.

The establishment of the Visa Application Centre marks a significant step towards fostering closer relations between Angola and Nigeria, particularly in economic and cultural spheres.
