A devastating armed robbery attack has claimed the life of retired Brigadier General Uwem Harold Udokwere in the Sunshine Homes estate, Lokogoma area of Abuja.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, June 21, 2024, around 3 a.m.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command has confirmed the attack and launched a discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igweh, has assured the bereaved family and the public that swift justice will be served, and every effort is being made to apprehend the perpetrators of this heinous act.
The police commissioner expressed his condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, a respected retired army general.
“This shocking incident has sent shockwaves through the community, and the police are working tirelessly to ensure that justice is served,” Adeh stated.
