Delta Police Probes Woman Death After Visit to Online Lover

The Delta Police Command has appealed to the public for any information that might aid in the ongoing investigation.

Asaba, Nigeria — The Delta State Police Command has initiated an investigation into the mysterious death of 23-year-old Precious Yusuf, whose body was found on October 24 along DLA Road, across from Falcon Club in Asaba.

According to the police report, Yusuf was last seen on October 22 after telling a friend she was meeting a man she had connected with on a dating website. However, she failed to return home, and her body was discovered two days later.

The Asaba “A” Division reportedly received a distress call early on October 24. Responding to the call, Divisional Police Officer CSP Rex Abiodun dispatched officers to the scene, where they identified the deceased as Precious Yusuf.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Yusuf had informed a friend about her plans to meet a man from the iHappy dating site in an area known as Coka. Her last communication was on October 23, around 7:30 a.m., when she texted her friend, stating she was on her way home.

Expressing condolences to Yusuf’s family, Delta State Commissioner of Police CP Olufemi Abaniwonda assured the public of a comprehensive investigation, stating the command is committed to uncovering the circumstances surrounding the young woman’s death.
