Police Arrest 8 Suspects in Connection with Delta Killings

In a recent breakthrough, the Nigeria Police Force has announced the arrest of eight suspects believed to be linked to the tragic ambush attacks in Ughelli, Delta State, which occurred on February 23rd and 26th, 2023.

According to a statement from the official X account of the Nigeria Police Force, the arrests come after intensive investigative efforts into the incidents that resulted in the deaths of six policemen, with six others reported missing in action.

Initial arrests of five suspects were made shortly after the attacks, with an additional three suspects apprehended at various locations following cooperation from the initially detained individuals.

The arrested suspects are currently in police custody, where they are assisting with ongoing investigations into the brutal ambush attacks.

Expressing deep sadness over the violence against officers who were diligently performing their duty to protect and serve the community, the Nigeria Police Force extends condolences to the families of the fallen officers.

ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, has reaffirmed the commitment of the police to ensure that all responsible for these reprehensible acts are swiftly brought to justice.

The suspects will face trial with credible evidence once investigations are concluded, according to ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
