In a bid to boost tourism and economic development in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, inaugurated the Sunrise Waterpark in Abuja.

Developed by the Nadeem Group, the recreational facility is situated at Sunrise Hill Estate, R1 Sunrise Blvd, Street, Kugbo, Abuja.

During the inauguration ceremony, Minister Wike emphasized the untapped potential of the tourism sector, stating that it could become one of the country’s highest foreign exchange-earners.

He highlighted the commitment of the administration under the “Renewed Hope” agenda to prioritize the development of tourism.

Acknowledging the importance of private sector involvement, Wike encouraged more investors to explore opportunities in the tourism sector, offering incentives to support development efforts.

He expressed optimism that the inauguration of Sunrise Waterpark would pave the way for further tourism site development in Abuja.

Describing the waterpark as the largest and most modern facility of its kind in the West African sub-region, Minister Wike underscored its significance in showcasing Abuja’s tourism potential.

Chairperson of Nadeem Group, Nadia Nadeem, emphasized the park’s role in fostering family bonds and friendships while contributing to job creation and attracting foreign investments.

She highlighted the potential for the waterpark to generate employment across various sectors including tourism, hospitality, entertainment, transportation, trade, commerce, real estate, and construction.

Nadeem expressed confidence that the waterpark would stimulate economic activities in Abuja, attracting both domestic and international visitors and positioning the city as a hub for tourism development.

The inauguration of Sunrise Waterpark marks a significant step towards realizing Abuja’s tourism aspirations, with Nigerians hopeful for further advancements in the sector.
