Jigawa – A fuel tanker has exploded along the Jigawa-Kano border, causing widespread panic among nearby residents.
The incident occurred in Tsaida, Kwanar Kalle, near Gamoji village on Maiduri Road in Jigawa State, North West Nigeria.
Aliyu M. A., the Public Relations Officer of the Federal Fire Service (FFS) in Jigawa State, confirmed the event to journalists on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. He detailed the rapid response effort: “On November 12, 2024, at approximately 10:43 a.m., the Federal Fire Service received a distress call from the Kuho Village Head, Zubairu Ahmad, regarding a tanker accident. Our team promptly arrived at the scene at 10:50 a.m., and the fire was successfully brought under control.”
The explosion, which prompted fear among bystanders, comes just a month after a similar disaster in the region.
