Abuja, Nigeria – The national power grid has experienced its first major collapse of 2025, plunging large parts of the country into a blackout just ten days into the New Year.
This incident marks the 13th grid collapse in the last 13 months, raising concerns about the nation’s energy infrastructure.

In a follow-up update, it was disclosed that power restoration efforts are underway, with the grid generating 302MW as of 2:40 p.m.
